Our Approach to Quality

MedResearch1-350ServingMed.com uses a team approach to every single project, meaning at least two professionals are assigned to each individual job. The team approach ensures accurate results, as well as continuous project coverage should one of the team members be temporarily unable to work.

Our translation process is as follows:

  • The initial project submission is reviewed by the ServingMed Director for length, deadline, and special instructions (UK vs. US English, the journal to which it will be sent, etc.). The Director confers with the Senior Translator, and a final price and deadline are confirmed with the client.
  • The Senior Translator completes a first draft of the translation, which is passed through an initial QA process that filters for standard errors (inconsistent translations, duplicate words, etc.). The translation is then exported to a bilingual Word document, which goes through another QA process for sentence structure, spelling, and grammar.
  • The bilingual document is submitted it to the Director in .rtf format for her review. Included in the draft are any areas requiring further research, questions for the author, etc.
  • The Director reviews the translation for accuracy and makes any needed corrections, researches any needed issues and queries the author directly if necessary to clarify the text and ensure an accurate result.
  • The Director returns the corrected translation to the Senior Translator who incorporates the corrections and generates a final, formatted version of the document, which is returned to the Director.
  • The Director reviews the document one more time before delivering the translation to the client. Once the client has had a chance to review and approve the translation, the invoice is sent.

Our editing process is as follows:

  • The initial project submission is reviewed by the ServingMed Director for length, deadline and special instructions (UK vs. US English, the journal to which it will be sent, etc.) The Director confers with a Senior Editor and a final price and deadline are confirmed with the client.
  • The Senior Editor completes a first draft of the edit and submits it to the Director. Included in the draft are any comments on areas requiring further research, questions for the author, etc.
  • The Director reviews the edit for accuracy and makes any needed corrections, researches any needed issues and queries the author directly if necessary to clarify the text and ensure an accurate result.
  • For particularly complex edits, a third editor is brought in to review the document as well.
  • The Director reviews the document one more time before delivering the final edit to the client. Once the client has had a chance to review and approve the edit, the invoice is sent.

For writing projects, our process is as follows:

  • We first interview the client to find out the scope and tone of the pieces to be completed, as well as formatting, details about the intended audience, deadlines and any special instructions.
  • The Director selects an expert writer based on the content requested, who will complete an initial draft for the client’s review.
  • The initial draft is proofread by a second writer at ServingMed and then the draft is delivered to the client for feedback.
  • The client’s feedback is incorporated into the piece until the client is completely satisfied, at which time the remaining pieces are completed.
  • Meanwhile, a schedule for future or recurring writing is proposed for the client’s approval.
  • Invoicing can be monthly or per project, as agreed by both ServingMed and the client.
